Pupil Premium

The Department for Education (DfE) introduced a Pupil Premium funding for eligible children in April 2015. As you may be aware, the government are expanding the Free School Meal (FSM) eligibility criteria from September 2026.

There will be 2 types of FSM eligibility:

· Targeted – families on universal credit and earning less than £7,400

· Expanded – families on universal credit and earning more than £7,400

Those eligible for Expanded FSM funding will be entitled to receive free school meals from Sept 2026.

Those eligible for Targeted FSM funding will be entitled to receive free school meals and the school will receive additional Pupil Premium funding enabling us to provide financial support towards uniform and a remission off trips.

How do I apply?

Eligibility can be checked by applying through Staffordshire County Council using the link below. You will need your National Insurance Number or National Asylum Support Service Number when applying.

Apply for free school meals

PLEASE NOTE:

· If you are currently in receipt of free school meals, then you do not need to reapply, unless you are advised otherwise by Staffordshire County Council.

· If you are in receipt of Universal Credit but not currently in receipt of free school meals, please apply as soon as possible to check your eligibility and ensure support is in place for September. Following your application, Staffordshire County Council will confirm your child’s eligibility.
