CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL Our tree is on display at the festival at St Mary's Church. The children have enjoyed creating their decorations and the Mayor loved the variety on our tree. STICKMAN SLEEPOVER To celebrate our Stickman text, our Reception children enjoyed a Stickman Sleepover on Friday. They returned to school in the dark, with torches, duvets and sleeping bags. The children used their torches to search in the dark for Stickman - they eventually found him! Children retreated to the warmth of the hall for hot cocoa, biscuits and to enjoy the Stickman story. DECORATING OUR FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE Today was a very special day at Burleyfields as we decorated our very first christmas tree! Following nursery collecting our tree yesterday, the children decorated it today. They had so much fun deciding where to place the baubles and hang the lights. It's now standing very proudly in the hall, ready to bring festive cheer to all the children, families and staff at Burleyfields. THE READING ELF! Yesterday, a very special visitor arrived at Burleyfields... our very own READING ELF! He delivered a special letter to the Burleyfields children explaining that he was here to bring the joy of reading and would be delivering a brand new christmassy book each week for the children to enjoy! But, as the children are finding out, he's not just here to deliver the books, he's been getting up to mischief around the school, from eating his lunch in the school hall to sprinkling glitter all over the hallway floors! He is certainly keeping us on our toes The children can't wait to see what he will do next, and we look forward to next week to see what new story he brings us.
